Day One

Today I started a new journey, the 21 Day Fix program. I am embarrassed to say that in the last year I have gained 30 lbs back of the 40 lbs I had previously lost a few years ago.

I'm not going to make excuses about why I gained all my weight back. Plain and simple: I gave up. I became lazy and didn't care about myself and how I eat. I prefer convenience over taking the time to prepare my own meals and it has definitely caught up to me.

I saw the infomercial for the 21 day fix a few weeks ago. It's really not that hard of a program to comprehend if you chose to not spend the money to buy the program.

The program sends you colored containers that are pre measured for portion control. You receive a red, yellow, blue, purple, and 2 oranges. You also get to consume 2 teaspoons of nut butters a day.

During a day, you can consume 3 green containers (veggies @ 1.25 cups), 2 purple (fruits @ 1.25 cups), 4 red (protein @ 3/4 cup), 2 yellow (carbs at 1/2 cup), 1 blue (healthy fats @ 1/4 cup), 1 orange (oils at 1/4 cup), and 2 grey (teaspoons).

For lunch today, I ate my left over subway sandwich, which I converted to 2 yellow, 2 red, 1 green, and 1 orange (roughly).

That meant for supper I had 2 green, 2 red, 2 purple, and 1 blue.

So, I made a salad with a side of fruit.

Let me tell you, I was apprehensive at first for size and food, but when it was on my plate, it was HUGE. I was full and found myself struggling to finish the final bites.

The program also suggests work puts and comes with DVDs to follow. Instead, I found a workout online that mimicked the total body cardio workout suggested for day one. My workout was 39 minutes long and KILLED! I worked up quite the sweat.

I definitely feel good after day 1 and look forward to fixing meals for tomorrow. I'm Lreafy looking at recipes. I definitely think this will be easy when school starts again and I can bring my lunch.
Will update later and attempt to put on pictures.
